A Great Read #2: The Hulk 100 Project

Hulk 100 Project CoverI must start by saying The Hulk 100 Project that was released in December by the HERO Initiative isn’t so much a “Great Read” as the title of this entry suggests as it is a “Great Look”.  The 135 page book collects the 120 (because ”120 is the new 100″ according to the Afterword) unique covers that were created by industry heavy weights like Ed McGuinness, Frank Cho, BOTH Romitas (Jr. and Sr.), David Finch, Mike Deodato, Steve Dillon, J. Scott Campbell and MANY more.  Just like the Ultimate Spider-Man 100 Project that came before it, artists were asked to create a cover for a comic book that would then be auctioned off to benefit the HERO Initiative.  The money raised from this publication would benefit comic creators that paved the way for the creators of today, obviously a very worthy cause.  The comic chosen this year was The Hulk #1 by writer Jeph Loeb and artist Ed McGuinness.
